Utah Juvenile Justice Services

On July 1, 2004, the Division of Youth Corrections became the Division of Juvenile Justice Services. This change is more than cosmetic because it now more accurately describes the breadth of services the Division provides. We work with youth we hope to divert from entering the juvenile justice system through Youth Services, with serious youthful offenders who have been court ordered to secure confinement, and a variety of youth who fall between these two categories.

The Division's responsibilities, as well as the number of staff we employ, have grown substantially over the past 22 years. Since its creation in 1981, we have added Detention, Receiving Centers, Day-Night Reporting Centers, Multi-use Facilities and Youth Services.

This website provides information about Juvenile Justice Services programs and facilities and contact information. We hope you find it informative and useful. If you have any questions or comments about this website, please feel free to contact Lisa Schauerhamer
