Shelter care provides temporary protective placements to abused, neglected, or dependent youth over age 10.
Facts about Shelter Care
- Youth have a right to a Shelter Hearing and that the DCFS protocol for protective services investigations is followed.
- Youth Services employees work closely with DCFS in these situations.
